Make Up 101

If you enjoy makeover games with your friends, be sure you know what you’re doing when you’re applying make-up. Wielding a mascara wand without confidence is a scary thing – so make sure you understand the basics. Foundation – Most girls don’t need foundation, but if you want to wear it, opt for very light water based foundation that matches your skin tone. Then apply it using a damp sponge to get an even application. Blend at the neck and hairline.
Powder – Powder takes away shine, but can be too overwhelming if you apply it too heavily. Use a light dusting on your T zone – the forehead and down the nose to the chin.

Blush – Blush gives you a bit of color in your cheeks. Skip the wimpy brush that comes with blush and use a big brush to lightly dust colors onto the apples of your cheeks.

Eyeliner – Unless you’re out past 8pm, you don’t have much use for eyeliner. When you do apply it, use a brown rather than black and be sure you’re filling in the last line – not above it.

Eye Shadow – There are many ways to apply eye shadow. Do a bit of research to find the right one for you, but remember to stay natural.

Mascara – Use dark brown mascara or black, but start at the base of the top eyelashes and wiggle the brush through. Repeat only two times and then put it away. You don’t want clumps or scary eyes.

Lip gloss – Lip gloss is the perfect way to dress up your lips. Dap on a pink lip gloss and your makeover game is complete!

Makeover Games Online

If you love to watch makeovers on talk shows and can’t wait until the weekends when you are able to give your friends real makeovers, you can kill time and practice your skills by doing makeover games online.

Online makeover games are a great combination of playing dress up and make up. You are able to select a base and then choose hair, eye color, and make up elements. Then you can spend hours arranging your dolls clothes and accessories.

When your creation is complete, you have plenty of choices as to how to show her off. You can make her into an image on your profile, website or blog. You might even make her your new avatar. You can also print your doll and possible make an entire portfolio of looks you’ve put together for future shopping expeditions and real life makeovers.

But the best thing about makeover games is that when you finish, you can save your doll anyway you like and then erase everything but the base. Then you can create another look, and another, and another, and another…

Fun with Makeover Games

If you’re looking for a good activity to play with your friends during a lazy afternoon or as part of a sleep over, tell each friend to bring a suitcase full of clothes (both favorites and not) and then do some serious makeovers.

To do a great makeover, you should let the person you’re making over have minimal input. The whole point of makeover games is to try out a look you normally wouldn’t wear – so live a little. Pick out an outfit for a friend combining what’s in your suitcase with what’s in hers. Add some accessories from various wardrobes.

Keep your friend away from the mirrors while you set to work on her hair and make up. Makeover games are the most fun when there is a great element of surprise. Give her a totally new style using a straightener, curlers, or hair accessories. Then apply her makeover.

Before letting your friend see her new look, take a few pictures. These will help you remember how much fun you’ve had and also give her a good visual to check out later when she’s deciding if she wants to wear the look somewhere beyond your bedroom. Then pull out the big mirrors and marvel in the finished product.
