Makeover Games for Warm Weather

The warmer weather of spring and summer brings with it some particular challenges. Getting ready for warm weather means having to ditch the bulky sweaters and layers that we hide behind during the winter and actually baring a bit more skin. To prepare for the coming of the warm weather, be sure your makeover games are targeted and fun.

The best ways to ditch the winter wardrobe is all at once. Spend a weekend digging around in your closet and drawers to find pieces that will help you transisiton from jeans and sweaters to shorts and t-shirts. A hoodie and a few pairs of longer, loose pants will likely be all you need over the next few weeks to cover the cooler days that come along while showing off your capris and Bermuda shorts at school – provided they are in the dress code, of course. Remember, too, that with warm weather comes the need for more exposed skin. This means you absolutely need more sunscreen as well.

Makeover Games and Summer

Summer is the perfect time for makeover games. Every summer, I end the school year wearing a huge number of layers and identities that I’ve created for the various organizations I’m a part of. To get through the last bits of the frantic year, I’ve made up some different personas and there is nothing like summer vacation to help me shed those and rediscover who I truly am.

While I’m actually digging deeper into who I am, it appears as though I’m changing myself to others. This is why I term this particular change as makeover games. I’m making over myself again to get me back closer to who I really want to be. This doesn’t just involve fashion, although my look is definitely a part of it. By the end of the school year, I’ve gained a few pounds from stress eating that need to be dropped and I’ve gotten pretty dependent on a few wardrobe staples. I then have to toss out those items and start anew to find clothes to fit my shrinking shape in a glamorous, or at least comfortable, way.

Makeover Games and Friends

As much as they support you and love you, your friends can also be your toughest critics. Friends are used to seeing you as they want to see you, and often this is the way they have been most comfortable with you for years. If you’re the funny one in the group, it makes them very nervous for you to become the dramatic one who loves fashion. If you’re dependable and quiet, branching out into a bit of wild fun can really ruffle some feathers.

While it might make your friends a bit uncomfortable, letting them call the shots in your life can be dangerous as well. We all grow and change and being kept in a position you don’t really care for is beyond frustrating. To help your friends accept you for who you’d like to become, include them in your makeover games. Post some of your thoughts and plans on your social profiles and be open and talk about what you intend to do to improve yourself. Stay true to yourself, even in the face of feedback and just enjoy being you – any version of you you want.

Makeover Games and Weight Loss

It’s important to remember that losing weight should be its own reward. But that being said, having a few makeover games along the way to help you look your best at any weight is worth a few extra dollars as well. When it comes to makeover games dedicated to losing weight, you need to focus on the journey rather than the destination. If you’re focused solely on your final weight goal, you’ll miss so much of the fun of a weight loss journey.

For example, the first time your pants are too lose is worth a treat in the form of some makeover games. Treat yourself to a manicure the first time you have to wear a belt to keep your pants up. When you drop the first dress size, don’t just think of how far you still have to go, but think of how much fun it was to get this far at this stage of the journey. Pack up all the clothing in that big size and take then to a resale or consignment shop. Take the cash you earn on your old, oversized wardrobe and buy yourself something fun in your new size. You can do that for every step of the way in fact. With hard work and dedication you’ll make it to your final goal, but make it even better by enjoying the full experience.
