Makeover Games and Thrift Shops

I’m a firm believer in thrift shops. I’m convinced you can get everything you need for some serious makeover games by shopping in thrift stores. You’ll also be doing a great service by spending money that goes to a more serious cause than some company’s bottom line. To play makeover games using thrift stores, however, you’ll need to spend some time digging through the wares and then even more time altering everything to fit you correctly.

Start by finding clothing items that are classics and basic. You can’t go wrong with a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Collect basics and then start looking for items to dress up your basics. A great jacket would look great over the black shirt and finding some funky shoes and a vintage bag would make the whole outfit really come together The more old you can combine with classic or new styles, the more successful the makeover games will be.

Your Hair and Makeover Games

Who doesn’t love to look her best? Makeover games are often focused on dramatic, fully body transformations that include new clothing and make up, but makeover games can just as easily focus on a single part of the body, and for many of us looking at heading back to school, that part is your hair. Having the right haircut makes it simple to look your best and to show off your personal sense of style, even if you’re stuck wearing a basic uniform or standardized dress.

How can anyone fail to see that you’re a bit punk or edgy if you’re wearing a fauxhawk as you walk down the halls of your building? Bright pink hair or a great cut can make it obvious to everyone that you’re not a cookie cutter type. Finding the best style for you can be as simple as trying out a few new haircuts or styles this summer, but during your hair makeover games, be on the lookout for the cut that make you look as great as possible while also being one that you’re comfortable with.

Makeover Games for School

It’s almost August and that means that it’s prime time for makeover games. As the school year gets closer, it’s time to redefine my look for the year. I already got some great new glasses, but I want more than fun glasses – I want a snazzy new hairstyle and maybe some bold highlights as well. Then I need to go through my clothing to find the items I enjoy wearing and the ones that I’ve just been wearing because they are there.

It’s important to build up my wardrobe again because it’s so closely tied to how I feel about myself and how well I actually get through my school day. When I know I look great, I act that way. I’m more energized and have a spring in my step. When I’ve slapped together an outfit that’s not very attractive, even if it is functional, my overall image of myself hurts and I wonder why I even bothered to get dressed in the morning. It’s time to reclaim the image of who I want to be – this is the year to do it!

The Makeover Games of the Summer

I love the summer months because it gives me time to really look at what I’ve been wearing and come up with a plan to dress up in the ways I actually like before the school year starts again. For example, I’ve been wearing the same pair of jeans for a year and they are really unattractive. They don’t fit very well, but when it came to makeover games, I simply didn’t have time to go and find some that looked great. Besides, I was just throwing t-shirts over the jeans so who cared?

Now that it’s summer, I’ve been able to go through my closet carefully as part of my makeover games and found the clothing that actually fits well and looks great. Those clothing items I’ve been wearing and they look amazing. The rest of the clothing that I sorted out won’t be going back into my closet for the school year. It’s time for a big donation to a charity – far better to have a small, carefully stocked wardrobe than one I hate because it’s all serviceable not pretty at all.

Makeover Games Now

The summer is an a great time to start working on some makeover games. The long stretch of the summer vacation most of us still enjoy gives us weeks on end to relax, get caught up on sleep and do a little exercising. Getting into the groove of being relaxed also makes it easier to watch what you’re eating and to cut way back on the junk food you might have crammed in your mouth with late night study sessions.

Over the summer months you can get caught up on your appointments as well so that you can return to school with a great new hairstyle you’ve learned to work with. You can get some new contacts or glasses to change your look as well as plenty of new clothing. If you’re lucky enough to shed a few pounds over the summer months as well thanks to your new healthy eating and exercise habits, you can celebrate that with a few new outfits. When you head back to school in a month or two, you can wow everyone with your new look courtesy of the makeover games you started now.

Makeover Games and Money

It’s hard to play intense makeover games if you don’t have a lot of money. Everything seems to cost so much, and there’s not a lot you can buy for twenty or thirty dollars in most stores. If you’re looking to play with makeover games, you’re going to need the help of your friends as well as some clever shopping ideas.

Your first stop should be thrift and consignment shops. There are some very trendy stores today that buy and sell used clothing, and these might be a great place to get started. Finding smaller, local resale shops can help cut the budget as well – the major, national resale shops might be more expensive than the local ones that often have sales or special buys.

Use scissors and special knots to make your clothing more exciting. Start with what you have and then use your creativity to enhance it. Stained clothing can be tie-dyed. Shirts that are too big can be belted like tunics or tied to fit the body closely.

Makeover Games and Weight

It’s hard to feel good about yourself if you’re struggling with weight. What’s important though is to remember that you can look great at any weight – the trick is finding the best ways to dress yourself to show your assets and play down the more negative aspects of your body. If you’re planning to lose weight, the best thing you can do is find some clothing that looks great on your body right now.

Get a new haircut as part of your makeover games and find some make up to make you look awesome. Once you’ve embraced your weight and your current style, you’ll be in a much healthier place to lose weight. Losing weight and getting fit when you feel terrible is hard – you can’t motivate yourself properly. But you can certainly motivate yourself if you already look great, and you know you’ll just look even better at the end of the process. Make your makeover games about looking good now and then you can focus on losing weight if that’s still something you feel you need to do.
