Make Up 101

If you enjoy makeover games with your friends, be sure you know what you’re doing when you’re applying make-up. Wielding a mascara wand without confidence is a scary thing – so make sure you understand the basics. Foundation – Most girls don’t need foundation, but if you want to wear it, opt for very light water based foundation that matches your skin tone. Then apply it using a damp sponge to get an even application. Blend at the neck and hairline.
Powder – Powder takes away shine, but can be too overwhelming if you apply it too heavily. Use a light dusting on your T zone – the forehead and down the nose to the chin.

Blush – Blush gives you a bit of color in your cheeks. Skip the wimpy brush that comes with blush and use a big brush to lightly dust colors onto the apples of your cheeks.

Eyeliner – Unless you’re out past 8pm, you don’t have much use for eyeliner. When you do apply it, use a brown rather than black and be sure you’re filling in the last line – not above it.

Eye Shadow – There are many ways to apply eye shadow. Do a bit of research to find the right one for you, but remember to stay natural.

Mascara – Use dark brown mascara or black, but start at the base of the top eyelashes and wiggle the brush through. Repeat only two times and then put it away. You don’t want clumps or scary eyes.

Lip gloss – Lip gloss is the perfect way to dress up your lips. Dap on a pink lip gloss and your makeover game is complete!
