Makeover Games: Pretty Princess

If you wander down the toy aisle, you’ll see plenty of princess dress up clothes for little girls. You might even have a few princess gowns from your own youth. But age doesn’t mean you have to stop playing princess games. You can still be a pretty princess!

Start with the gown. Every princess needs a beautiful gown. You can find this sort of thing many places. The least expensive would be your mother’s closet. With her permission, of course, dig around until you find her own formals. Most women keep their prom dress and wedding dress, and she might be willing to let you play with them if you ask nicely and take good care.

If you mother doesn’t have anything suitable, head to a resale shop, thrift store, or consignment shop to find a flowing, glittery formal gown. You might poke around these stores for hair accessories, masks, and the all important tiara. Find what you can, and then head to a costume shop for the rest.

When you have all the style elements, do your hair and makeup. A glamorous updo is standard, and be sure to use a bit of shimmer and glitter for flair. Then pull on your new gown, step into your glass (or plastic) slippers and you’re off to a make-believe ball of your own.
